Submerged Arc Welding - SAW
Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a highly efficient automated welding method. ESAB offers turnkey solutions for automated SAW welding and ancillary equipment, such as fully automatic flux-management systems and seam-tracking systems to maximize optimization and profitability for our customers.
Indicated weld deposit rates for ESAB's submerged arc welding equipment
Green areas show the comfort zone commonly selected by customers for different applications. Yellow bars show the upper limit for each weld set-up.
3. Tandem wire
In tandem SAW welding each of the two wires is connected to its own power source and fed simultaneously by its own feed unit.
4. Tandem twin
The ESAB Tandem twin process involves two twin wire heads placed in sequence.
6. Narrow Gap
ESAB's Heavy Duty Narrow Gap multi welding system, HNG Multi is suitable for continuous operation under heavy conditions.
7. Cladding
Strip cladding by submerged-arc welding (SAW) or by electroslag welding (ESW) are the preferred methods for cladding or for larger areas.
8. SAW - ICE™
ESAB's revolutionary technology exploits the excess heat from the conventional submerged arc welding (SAW) process to increase productivity without increasing heat input.
